The terms at a glance

The full spec sits below. Here is the short version before you read it.

  • What this covers

These terms apply to every advisory and build engagement we run for your payments and VAT work.

  • Fees are agreed first

We scope and quote each engagement in writing. No work starts until you approve the fee.

  • You stay the filer of record

We prepare and submit on your behalf. Final liability for tax filings rests with your business.

Terms in full

Ten short clauses. Each one says what it means in plain words.

    Acceptance of these terms

These terms form a contract between you and FiscalGeek. They apply when you ask us to scope, advise on or build any payments or VAT work.

By signing an engagement letter or approving a quote, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not start an engagement with us.

    The services we provide

FiscalGeek advises on cross-border payment setup and EU VAT compliance. This includes gateway selection, OSS and IOSS filing, and reconciliation.

We are a hands-on partner. We carry out integrations, setups and filings as agreed. Each engagement letter lists the exact deliverables in scope.

    Engagement, quotes and fees

We scope every project before it begins. You receive a written quote with the fee, timeline and deliverables. Work starts once you approve it.

Invoices are due within the term stated on each invoice. Late or unpaid fees may pause active work until the account is settled.

    Your responsibilities as the client

You give us accurate, timely access to the data and systems a project needs. We rely on what you provide to do correct work.

You remain the filer of record for your tax returns. You stay responsible for the final accuracy of any submission we prepare on your behalf.

    Professional advice, not a guarantee

Our advice reflects EU rules as we understand them at the time. Rules change across 27 member states, and facts differ by business.

We do not guarantee a specific tax outcome, authorisation rate or audit result. Always confirm material decisions with your own auditor or counsel.

    Confidentiality

We treat your financial and operational data as confidential. We use it only to deliver the engagement you have asked us to run.

We do not share your data with third parties without your consent. The one exception is where the law or a regulator requires it.

    Intellectual property

You own the deliverables once you have paid for them in full. This covers the filings, configurations and reports we produce for you.

We keep ownership of our own methods, templates and internal tools. You receive a licence to use them inside your business, not to resell them.

    Limitation of liability

Our total liability for any engagement is capped at the fees you paid for that engagement. This cap applies to the fullest extent the law allows.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as our own fraud.

    Term and termination

Either side may end an engagement in writing. You pay for the work we have completed up to the date the engagement ends.

On termination we hand over your data and any finished deliverables. We keep records only as long as our legal duties require.

    Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws that apply at our place of business. Any dispute is handled under that same jurisdiction.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published here on the date of your engagement.
